How Stark Gate works

Stark Gate is one sign-in for everything Starktronix shares with you: private prototypes, apps, and partner and client sites.

The public pages of starktronix.com need no sign-in. You only need Stark Gate for what is shared with you.

Getting in

There are three ways in: an invitation, an account you create yourself, or signing in to the account you already have.

With an invitation

  1. Open the invitation email and press Create your account.
  2. A page opens at gate.starktronix.com/join. It shows who invited you and what is shared with you.
  3. Choose Continue with Google, or type your name and a password of 8 characters or more. Your email is already filled in.
  4. If you chose a password, we email you a 6-digit code. Type it in to confirm your address.
  5. Your account is ready. Add a passkey if you like, or press Not now, and your dashboard opens.

The link works in any browser and lasts 7 days. With Google, use the Google account of the address the invitation was sent to.

Create an account yourself

  1. Go to gate.starktronix.com/signup.
  2. Choose Continue with Google, or type your name, your email and a password of 8 characters or more.
  3. If you chose a password, we email you a 6-digit code. Type it in to confirm your address.
  4. Your account is ready, but it starts empty: you see nothing until something is shared with you.
  5. Want something? Open its private page and ask for access.

Sign in

  1. Go to gate.starktronix.com/signin.
  2. Pick one way: your email and password, Continue with Google, or Sign in with a passkey.
  3. You're in. Signing in never asks for a code.

You only get a 6-digit code when you create an account or press Forgot password?

After 5 wrong passwords, each new try waits 30 seconds, then longer (up to 15 minutes).

Passkeys

A passkey is a sign-in that lives on your phone or computer. You use it with Face ID, Touch ID or your device PIN, so there is no password to type.

Add a passkey

  1. Sign in and open Account › Sign-in methods.
  2. Press Add a passkey.
  3. Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your device PIN. That's all.
  4. Next time, press Sign in with a passkey on the sign-in page.

Saved it in a password manager, like Google Password Manager, iCloud Keychain or Samsung Pass? Then it syncs: it works on your other devices too, and there is nothing to add there.

Right after you create your account, Stark Gate also offers to add one.

After you sign in, you land on your dashboard at gate.starktronix.com. It has three parts: on the left on a computer, in the bar at the bottom on a phone.

    What is shared with you, and what changed.

  2. Projects

    Open your prototypes, apps and sites. They open on starktronix.com, already signed in.

  3. Account

    Your name, your sign-in methods (password, Google, passkeys) and your sessions, where you can sign out a device.

Opening private things

Some pages on starktronix.com are private. If one isn't shared with you yet, it says so, and you can ask for it.

  1. Open the page. It says This isn't shared with you yet.
  2. Press Request access.
  3. The owner gets your request. While you wait, you see it in Projects, under Waiting for approval.
  4. Once it's approved, the page opens for you, and it shows in your Projects.

Staying signed in and safe

Most of this works on its own. Here is what to know.

  • A device stays signed in for 30 days, or 14 days if you don't use it.
  • When your account is used on a new device, we email you.
  • Don't recognise a device? Sign it out in Account › My sessions.
  • Never share a code with anyone. Starktronix never asks you for it.

For admins

Owner and admins only

This part is only for the owner and admins. Everyone else can skip it.

  1. People, Access, Security and Logs are admin areas. They open after a passkey check: Confirm it's you.
  2. Once open, they stay open for 12 hours, or until you have been idle for 1 hour.
  3. Every change asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your PIN once.
  4. Your first passkey is approved by itself. Then add recovery codes in Security › Passkeys and recovery: they approve a new passkey if you lose your device.
  5. In the admin areas you invite people, share projects in Access (by project, by person or on the map), answer requests and read the logs.

Questions

I didn't get the code.

Check your spam folder, and give it a minute. Still nothing after 30 seconds? Press Send a new code. Each code works for 10 minutes.

My phone says it already has a passkey.

That's fine: your passkey synced through your password manager, so this device can already use it. Just press Sign in with a passkey. There is nothing to add.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in page, press Forgot password? We email you a 6-digit code; type it in and choose a new password.

I see nothing on Home.

Nothing is shared with you yet. Open the private page you need and press Request access, or ask your Starktronix contact to share it with you.

I could open prototypes before Stark Gate.

Your access came with you. Sign in with Continue with Google using the same email, or press Forgot password? once to choose a password.

How do I sign out?

On your dashboard, open the menu under your initials, top right, and press Sign out. To sign out another device, use Account › My sessions.
